If we now go back up to Figure 3 and select Add my own container, we are presented with the screen in Figure 6.

In this example, we will first add a store-bought item to the Basement freezer. Pressing Add a store-bought item in Figure 3 causes the screen in Figure 4 to be displayed.
Press the + button in Figure 2. The screen in Figure 3 will appear.
To add an item to a freezer without scanning a barcode, press the Manage Freezers and Items button on the Frij ID main screen, shown above. You will be presented with the screen in Figure 1, which shows the list of currently defined freezers.

In Figure 6 we enter the name of the container, in this case Pizza, and the number of items in the container, in this case 5 slices of pizza. Pressing the Add to Freezer button results in Figure 7 below. Note that there is a container icon next to Pizza, providing a visual cue that Pizza is a home made item stored in our own container.

We next type the name of the store-bought item into the edit box below ITEM NAME and press the Add to Freezer button. The screen in Figure 5 is then displayed. Note that the store-bought item added, Bread in this example, is added to the list under ITEMS IN THIS FREEZER in Figure 5. Bread has a shopping cart item next to it, providing a visual cue that this is a store-bought item that has not been added by scanning a barcode.

Tap on the freezer that you would like to add the item to (the Basement freezer, in this example). The screen in Figure 2 will appear. Note that Mac and cheese was previously added by scanning a barcode on a package. Next to Mac and cheese is an icon of a partial barcode, providing a visual cue that Mac and cheese was added by scanning a barcode.
